The Château of Lavardens, classified as a Historic Monument in 1961, was rebuilt by Antoine de Roquelaure, on the ruins of the castle of the Counts of Armagnac. Built on a rocky spur, the fortress of the Counts of Armagnac had a vast field of view that allowed for surveillance and security.
Les Vignerons de Buzet
Les Vignerons de Buzet are 184 wine growers and 95 employees working together within a cooperative set up. They are committing the local area to an innovative viticulture that "serves the living world" and offers consumers a consistently better wine. Our cohesion is our strength enabling an area such as ours to transform itself into a resilient, living, preserved and fertile land.
One might presume that Tariquet’s success is simply the result of hard work, dedication and respect for the vine and all things vinous. Yet the small region of Gascony known as the Gers, famed for its Armagnac and quality of life, is also a bastion of Gascon grapes and terroir, where differences are cultivated with a touch of reasoned rebelliousness.
Known as the Little Carcassonne of Gers, the village of Larressingle, listed as one of the most beautiful in the country, is the smallest fortified village in France! Nestling amid the vines, at the heart of the famous Armagnac region, this former residence of the Bishops of Condom, of which a 13th-century castle keep still remains, is a remarkable example of medieval architecture. Surrounded by ramparts and trenches, many reminders of the past are tucked away in this adorable village.
The Domaine Chiroulet is located on the highest slopes of Gascony, in the north of the Gers it benefits from a south-facing exposure, swept by the winds, ideal for picking ripe and healthy grapes. Chiroulet vineyard of 45 hectares is one of the rare French terroirs where wines are produced that accompany you from aperitif to digestive. As an aperitif, you can enjoy a fresh flake of Gascony or, why not, our sweet white wine "Soleil d'automne". During the meal, our dry white and red wines for ageing will perfectly match your starters and main courses. As a digestive, how about an old Ténarèze Armagnac?
Situated on the slopes surrounding Château de Pellehaut, at an elevation of over 180m, the vineyard is set in an ideal terroir with maximum exposure to the sun.Protected by the Pyrenees, the Gers region also has the advantage of relatively low rainfall in summer. "Pellehaut" gets its name from the Roman or mediaeval word pila (meaning any kind of solid, pillar-like construction).The presence two kilometres away of mosaics decorated with vines at the Gallo-Roman site of Séviac bears witness to the fact that vines were already grown at Pellehaut in Roman times.
The fortified enclosure of Fourcès is located in the department of Gers, at an altitude of 88 meters, in the canton of Montréal-du-Gers, 12 km from the sub-prefecture of Condom. This feudal village owes its originality to its circular shape. Its history and architecture make it one of the jewels of Armagnac.
Abbaye de Flaran
The abbey of Flaran, founded in 1151 by the monks of Escaladieu (Hautes-Pyrénées), lies in the valley of the Baïse, and is one of the best preserved abbeys in the South-West of France. The monastic buildings with their gardens, situated in the centre of parkland, form a perfect example of a Cistercian monastery of the twelfth century, modified down to the eighteenth century.
Deep in the southwest of France, about halfway between Bordeaux and Toulouse, lies the famous region of Armagnac. And right in the heart of it, the estate stretches across 300 hectares of land and features a beautiful castle from the 13th century, the Château de Gensac. Vines have been cultivated here for over 600 years, and we are incredibly proud and highly dedicated to being able to build on this long-standing tradition in order to produce top-quality wines and Armagnac with the latest technology.
The Château of Monluc is an exceptional site located on the dominant part of Saint-Puy. It was built on the remains of a 13th century castle. It was the paternal house of Marshal Blaise de Monluc. This castle has endured time and invasions whether at the heart of the reign of the Merovingians and Carolingians, or during the campaign of the King of England.
Domaine de Magnaut
Domaine de Magnaut is located in Gascony in the commune of Fourcès in the northwestern part of the Gers department. This family estate consists of a 45 hectare vineyard with rich and varied terroirs. The marriage between these terroirs and the professional experiences acquired by Jean-Marie Terraube, in different vineyards, has made it possible to create a range of wines from the Côtes de Gascogne and Flocs de Gascogne and to highlight the Eaux de Vie d'Armagnac. Today, all the products in the domain are regularly rewarded.
Domaine de Meillan
The estate is located in the heart of Gascony and has a wide variety of terroirs: The valleys, composed of clay and silt soils are suitable for Ugni-Blanc and Baco to produce Armagnac. The slopes, made up of clay-limestone favour the good maturity of white grapes and fruity red grapes and the clay-limestone gravel plateaus are perfectly adapted to old red vines, such as Merlot, Tannat and Cabernet Franc, producing generous and powerful wines.
Domaine des Cassagnole
The Vineyard runs to 60 hectares, run in an entirely sustainable way and has been certified ‘Haute Valeur Environnementale’ since 2016. At the beginning of single grape variety wine-making in Gascony, our first 100% Colombard vintage was produced in the winery in 1980. It has been followed by many others and we are especially proud of our 100% Gros Manseng dry vintage.
